We charge a basic flat rate studio fee of $12.00 per painter per day. It is essentially an ALL DAY PASS since you can paint more than one piece for that same $8. This covers the use of all the "paints" (underglazes), stencils, stamps, other tools, and for us to glaze and fire each of your pieces. You then purchase the pieces you wish to paint. We offer a large variety of mugs, plates, piggy banks and other kid friendly designs to choose from. The average cost of our bisque ware runs between $5 and $12, although we do have some larger more expensive pieces.
We also carry a wide selection of stamps, stencils, and can show you plenty of techniques to help create your own masterpiece. For the younger artists we can do hand and feet prints that make wonderful gifts! We fire up our kiln once a week, so final pieces are ready to pick in approximately 5-7 days depending on what day you come in or we can ship your piece to you for a small charge.
- Pick out your piece of unfinished pottery
- Decide on a design
- Choose your colors
- Relax & paint
- When done, leave it for us to glaze and fire (pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe)
- We will call you when it's done, usually about 5-7 days, (a little longer at major holidays) or you can choose to have your piece shipped to you.
We also offer “take it home today” pottery for the younger kids who may not want to wait a week to have their finished piece. Instead of using underglazes to paint and fire in the kiln, you use acrylic paints and we simply spray on a clear glaze to add the shine and seal the piece. Please note, these pieces are not food safe and cannot be put in the dishwasher or microwave. Results achieved with painting with acrylics vs. using underglazes and having your piece fired are not the same. We recommend this process for only some of our smaller decorative items.
