Summer is all about play, exploration, creativity and camps! Our specialty program and enthusiastic, experienced staff provides a fun-filled, safe and creative environment for your children to embrace the summer camp experience. Swing into summer fun with La Dee Da’s specialty arts & crafts summer day camps! With exciting themes for each age group, your child is sure to find something to pique their interest and keep their hands, mind, and hearts busy this summer. Did your child take a camp with us last year? Rest assured, a new year means a new camp experience, new projects and themes and always full of creativity and fun! All supplies are included–except food, so be sure to pack a nutritious (and nut-free) morning snack, bagged lunch and water bottle for your campers. Fridays are always cheesy pizza on the house. As always, please remember to DRESS for the MESS!

Camp Hours

Camps run daily M-F (except for Week 2, no camp Monday, May 25; Memorial Day)

Hours: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm (Half-Day Program) 9:30 am – 4:00 pm (Full-Day Program; only available for children age 5 and up)

Pre-care: 8:30 am – 9:30 am ($40/week; M-F)
Post –care: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm ($40/week; M-F)

Summer Art Camp Discount La Dee Da, early bird discount

Registration Fee: One time – $30/child for summer program (not to exceed $60 per household).

Half-Day Program: $280/week (Ages 3 and up; MUST be fully potty trained).
Includes Wednesday popsicles, Friday pizza, Camp T-Shirt, In-House Field Trips & Specialty Guest & all supplies.

Full Day-Day: $405/week (must be 5 years and older by the start of camp week to be eligible for full day program).
Includes all of the above, plus afternoon workshops & snack.

Afternoon Sewing Workshop: $150/week being offered Week 5 & Week 10 (Ages 7+; do not need to be signed up for camp program)

Week 1 : May 18 – 22: The Colorful World of Eric Carle

Let’s kick off the summer with this fun and colorful camp designed especially for our preschoolers. Campers will explore the literature and art of Eric Carle. We work our way through some of his classic books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, The Grouch Lady Bug, The Tiny Seed and more! Through fun arts and crafts, musical play, science experiences, sensory play and creative snacks to go with the theme, we will immerse ourselves in the colorful world of art collages and stories that we’re all so familiar with! We will be joined by a specialty in-house music field trip.

Week 2: May 26 – 29*: Ruckus In The Rainforest (no camp Monday)

Campers are invited to jump with us into this jungle adventure! Bring your best imagination and learn about the rainforest while we create animals, insects, reptiles, flowers and much more. Learn new art techniques and create friendly sloths, toucans, snakes, and piranhas. We will find inspiration in the rainforest habitat and its people while hearing about their customs and create a tree house collage. Your little artist will have a wild time creating fun art projects, making new friends and playing games! Our specialty field trip will be the Reptile Farm where campers will be able to touch, feel and ask questions about some scaly and slithering creatures.

Week 3: June 1 – 5: Where Unicorns, Rainbows and Fairies Are Born!

Join us at La Dee Da for a sparkling week of arts & crafts fun from far away lands. A truly spectacular week where magical unicorns, hidden forests, rainbows, fairies and globs of sparkle make childhood fantasies become reality! This camp is all about exploring the world of imagination and creating unique accessories and wearable art that show off your inner magic. Older campers will be introduced to hand sewing and nail art. We’ll make tons of fun art for our rooms, tiny fairy doors in shadow boxes, headbands and jewelry, along with unicorn poop slime! We’ll end the week with a sparkling tea party lead by a Unicorn Princess herself!

Week 4: June 8 – 12: Dollhouse Designers

Dollhouses are probably one of the most essential, open ended, imaginative toys any child could play with. What if your child could build, design, and play with their very own custom dollhouse? This summer at La Dee Da, they can! Using problem solving skills, imagination and creativity, each camper will be guided to think like an architect, builder, designer, and artist! Campers will receive a beautiful large wooden dollhouse at the beginning of the week. We will then spend each day painting, decorating, printing wallpaper, weaving carpets, learning to create tassels and pompoms, design furniture, and more! Parents are invited to a beautiful Dollhouse showcase on Friday.

Week 5 A: June 15 – 19: Pop Goes The 80’s (Fashion Week)

If you could only travel back to one of the most iconic decades in music, fashion and culture, it would have to be the 80’s! Calling on all our little fashionistas, this camp is totally rad! Campers will parade through colorful neons, side ponytails, and animal prints throughout this totally rocking camp week as we create art and wearable fashion mimicking the 80’s. Campers will get glammed up and participate in a professional photo shoot. We will end with a phat 80’s inspired punk fashion show that will have you beat boxing in your seats! Parents are invited to attend.

Week 5 B: June 15 – 19: VSCO Girlpowerment (Session 1) Min Age 8

Omg and I oop Sksksksksks! Calling all our wanna be VSCO (Visco) tweens! Bring on your hydro flasks and your vans and oversized t-shirts, this camp is rly cool! We’ll be crafting the week away with our very own hand sewn scrunchies, pura vida bracelets, puka shell chokers, we’ll enjoy fun selphie moments, craft farm house signs for our bedrooms and a whole lot more fun! But c’mon tweens, kindness is magic and it’s what’s in your heart that makes you really beautiful! Campers will be introduced to the daily practice of gratitude through art journaling while working on some empowerment and friendship goals! So grab your bestie and let’s meme the summer with kindness!

Week 5 C: June 15 – 19: Sewing Afternoon Workshop (Session 1; 2 pm – 4pm) Min Age 7

During this one-week afternoon camp designed especially for children age 7 and up, your child will learn to sew using both a sewing machine and hand sew with a needle and thread to create a beautiful sling tote bag they can actually use! With small group sizes (up to 8 campers per group) your child will master specific beginner sewing skills, learn how to sew a button and fix a rip in clothing. All supplies are provided, including sewing machines and fabric.

Week 6: June 22 – 26: Rotten To The Core!

Calling all young villains to La Dee Da! Are you ready to explore what separates good from evil? Join us for a magically good time as we create potions, magical mirrors, read and discuss what characteristics make a good villain and uncover our own “rotten core.” Every story needs a great villain! Let’s get together as we get to know Mal, Carlos, Evie and Jay. Campers are invited to a fun costume party on Friday with a special guest visit. Rest assured, this camp is sure to be a wicked good time!

Week 7: June 29 – July3: Gone To The Dogs! (Session 1)

Cuteness overload! If your child loves puppies, they will LOVE Puppy Camp at La Dee Da! We will start the week by adopting our furry friends (don’t worry parents, these are stuffed animals). We will stuff and fluff and bring our furry friends to life! Campers will spend the week making doghouses out of recycled materials, puppy plushies (older campers will be introduced to hand sewing), cute accessories like collars and bow ties, a doggy bed, fake puppy chow and more. We will end the week with a special guest visit from some real live puppies to play and cuddle with.

Week 8: July 6 – 10: All Spaced Out

If your child loves to gaze up at the stars and dream of space travel, then this camp is for him/her. Suit up for a mission to La Dee Da this summer as we’re blasting off to outer space for this amazing STEAM Camp! With a mix of educational projects, sensory and science experiments as well as a LEGO workshop, your child will be ready to train for a landing on the moon! We’ll build our own papier mache space helmets, fizzing rockets, and our older campers will even learn to make their very own robotic hand out of recycled cardboard!

Week 9 A:July 13 – 17: Stuck in the Mud

Our top creative camp is back for another year. Something about the tactile nature of working with clay makes this a crowd favorite. Not only will your child expand their imaginations and explore the exciting world of clay, they will get to experience the ultimate in hand building techniques on how to coil, pinch and slab-build. We will create multiple decorative and ornamental projects with materials like air-dry clay, polymer clay, model magic and wet clay. Children will also experience using a tabletop wheel.

Week 9 B: July 13 – 17: Pokémon Go!

Is your child going crazy for Pokémon Go? Become a Pokémon master at La Dee Da this summer! In this specialty camp, your child will put their Pokémon Go skills to work as they create Pokémon inspired art. Campers will work with a variety of art materials as they make their own trading cards, Pokémon Balls, a Pokémon-inspired creature, and a map of its new habitat! We will also learn how to paint and draw a charmander. Older camper will learn to sew their own pokéman plushies and create pixel art key chains. We will play our own version of Pokémon Go, learn about metamorphosis and have a blast sequencing battles. And if that’s not all, we will also enjoy a LEGO workshop. Week 10 A: July 20 – 24: American Girl Doll® Friendship Camp

Kindness can be the cure to many of life’s challenges. It takes effort, compassion, teamwork, creative thinking and a whole lot of love and care to make a difference in others’ lives, and hopefully, in the whole world. Celebrate friendships and nurture kindness this week at La Dee Da with your favorite American Girl Doll and your best friend! Through collaborative art projects, partner exercises, friendship crafts, positive affirmations, gratitude journals and their favorite dolls of course, we will work on instilling core values of honesty, courage, kindness, and compassion within all our campers.

Week 11 A: July 27 – 31: Camp Illusion (Min Age 8)

What child doesn’t enjoy watching magic shows? Magic and optical illusions are a favorite topic amongst kids. Your child will now have the exciting opportunity to spend a week at Camp Illusion exclusively at La Dee Da! We will create fun OP Art and see how our eyes trick our brain into seeing things, which may or may not be real. Campers will learn to work on simple magic tricks through a professional magic workshop lead by local Atlanta Magician. Part of various days will be devoted to balloon twisting, puppetry and an introduction to ventriloquism. We will even make fun props to help campers put on their very own show at home.

Week 12: August 3 – 7: Under The Big Top

Calling all boys and girls to join us this summer for the Greatest Creative Show on Earth. There truly is room for everyone under the big top! Come and create works of art while learning how to hoola hoop, balance and perform! We will be constructing our own miniature circus stage out of recycled materials. And even make our own juggling balls and learn to juggle! Our Friday in-house field trip will be a friendly clown doing magic tricks, and face paint, along with a popcorn party.

Week 13: August 10 – 14; All Mixed Up!

The ultimate in mixed media and collage week designed especially for our preschoolers. Whether your child is an existing preschool/day care environment or about to start Kindergarten, this camp is a perfect segway to a formal environment that will help children prepare for separation issues, building social skills, enter a classroom set up and explore and build on fine motor skills. From cutting, pasting, manipulatives, sensory art and play, stories and music your camper will come home with beautiful process based art including mobiles and puppets and art you will want to display in your home. Parents are invited at the end the week with an adorable showcase of mixed media murals created by your own children!
