Garden to Glass Pt. 1: Japanese Kokedama Moss Ball Plant Workshop & Southern Peach Sweet Tea
Join us at La Dee Da for this super fun and creative adult workshop. Kokedama, translated “moss ball,” is a Japanese form of garden art. It’s made by wrapping a plant’s roots with soil, moss and string, rather than planting the in the ground or a container, and can be done with a variety of plants. It’s a wonderful technique for making hanging gardens by suspending your plants or you can even leave it sitting in a tray! It creates a super cool focal point, by setting them on trays, small stands or by hanging them. It’s rewarding to surround yourself with kokedama planters you’ve made yourself—it’s not difficult to do! We’ll show you how.
We will have a variety of plants available to choose from and you will be guided step-by-step throughout the process. In this 90 minute long hands-on workshop, we’ll learn how to make your kokedama and how to take care of Kokedama! You will be taken step by step through the unique process. All materials will be provided. A wooden dough bowl, rocks and moss can be added (included in fee) for a bonsai style look. We will also be learning how to make some Peach Sweet Tea with a southern flair!
